The Chantilly Polo Club invited Piya Bajwa and her Trust “For Ability India Trust” to participate in its annual charity polo event, by naming its annual 12 goal charity polo cup as “Nobility for Ability Charity Cup”, to raise funds for the cause of empowering women and the differently abled in India. The event was held on 24th June, 2018 in Apremont, France.
The event was in support of the “Princess Diya Kumari Foundation” (PDKF) and “ODE”, helping children with learning disabilities. Her Royal Highness Princess Diya Kumari ji of Jaipur, graced this event. His Royal Highness Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur played in the invitation charity polo game between the Jaipur Royals and the Chantilly Polo Club.
The event highlight was a couture show by India’s leading designer Charu Parashar on the theme “Khadi the Fabric of Freedom & Harmony”, contributing to the dream of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, to take khadi from local to global. The designer’s endeavour is to promote and make khadi silk a main stream fabric globally.
The full day event on also featured a charity lunch, and an exhibition of pashmina and shawls by one of India’s finest handloom houses Ahujasons.
This was the first of its kind India focused event in the Chantilly Polo Club that presented a glimpse of Indian heritage around a social cause.
